It all began with an idea.

Xiomara and Daniel started Oh My! Empanada with one expectation; Fill the world with culture.

Oh My! Empanada brings the vibrant diversity of Denver’s food scene to life with our high quality, gluten free, Colombian empanadas. Oh My! Empanada addresses the need for more accessible and diverse food alternatives. We have learned that modern-day society craves new foods, and Oh My! Empanada’s authentic Colombian empanadas expand that need with Latin flavors within Denver and beyond.

Xiomara is the CEO and founder of Oh My! Empanada. She hails from Cali, Colombia and now resides in Denver, CO. Xiomara is highly skilled at relationship building with clients across organizations and teams and balances three different full-time roles; mother, Director of Strategic Partnerships, and entrepreneur. She is also the President of Fundación de Colombianos en Colorado, a non-profit volunteer organization aimed to serve the local Colombian population.

Daniel is the co-founder of Oh My! Empanada. He was born in Yokosuka, Japan and was raised in Denver, CO. In his past life, he played in a rock band and had aspirations of touring the world and playing music. After recording multiple albums and playing countless shows, Daniel now works at Denver Water and enjoys spending time raising his family while focusing his efforts on growing the empanada business.

Together, they have two young boys, Kai and Kobi, who are full of love and energy and inspire them every single day.

The Product - What is an Empanada?

Empanadas are handheld snacks with a crispy crust made from corn and a variety of fillings. From our kitchen in Denver, we craft each empanada using traditional techniques and locally sourced ingredients. Our offerings are versatile, frozen for those who wish to enjoy our flavors at home, and ready-to-eat from our booth at the City Park Farmers market on Saturdays and South Pearl Street Farmers Market on Sundays. Either are conveniently located near the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, Baker, Hilltop, or Washington Park. 

Our menu is a celebration of Colombian culinary traditions, tailored to meet the modern needs of our diverse community, including those with gluten sensitivities, and vegetarian/vegan diets. Favorites include our signature Shredded Beef Potato, our innovative Vegan Mushroom and Potato empanada and the crowd-pleasing Sweet Plantain and Cheese Vegetarian empanada. Each empanada is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and served with a choice of our traditional spicy Ají or our creamy avocado blend.
